A group of young hopefuls donned mask and tights last Friday during final screen testing for the upcoming big-screen adaptation of Marvel Comics' "Spider-Man."

The Hollywood Reporter says that on Friday, director Sam Raimi had several young actors screen-test for the dual role of Spidey/Peter Parker. Among those taking the test: "Felicity's" Scott Speedman, Jay Rodan, who recently appeared in "Caveman's Valentine," and "Whatever It Takes'" James Franco, who will also be seen in TNT's upcoming James Dean biopic.

Tobey Maguire, most recently seen in "Wonder Boys," has also been mentioned as a possible webslinger.

In other "Spider-Man" news, "Gone In 60 Seconds" scribe Scott Rosenberg has been asked to rewrite the original screenplay by "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" screenwriter David Koepp.
